ARTIST STATEMENT
As soon as I picked up the paint brush, I realized that abstract painting was a way I could really convey my ideas on canvas
My artwork (so far) uses multiple colour layers to create depth on canvas along with creating texture for the viewer. In order to create the abstract painting, I utilise a variety of utensils which may be required to help complete the artwork.
For me, these paintings are about the pleasure and fusion of colour and energy, of being excited of the world around me and pushing forward to seduce the paint with this particular moment in time. I view each piece as being unique while having a life of its own, which has been asked to be created for this world. I pray that these paintings are a source for energy and joyfulness.
Sohail Hashmi is passionate about his work and his paintings are authentic and unique. His style is his own which manifests from his years of experience in media including acting, radio hosting producing for television & directing to name a few.
